Ever Since You Never Heard Of Me

Hello My Dearest Ones;

Well, it's been a long time in the making, but I am so pleased and excited to tell you all of my brand new album release, titled: "Ever Since You Never Heard Of Me"! Iam so pleased that I am almost beyond words. (I know. Me beyond words?)

  1. Hi Melanie- I am going to look for the album in Carlton (Melbourne) tomorrow. I have been thinking about you a lot lately. Part of the reason is that I now have broadband at last, so I can look at youtube.com, etc with ease. I am singing your songs with the iPod when I run, or walking home from the bus stop after school. In tense times, when I'm not sure my year 10 English class will be supportive, I am playing your songs on the projector screen and gaining courage from you. Your image is on my computer screen background, and the students ask, 'who's that? she's pretty!'... Today we finished discussing Much Ado About Nothing early, so I asked if they wanted to see a clip. We all watched 'Leftover Wine' and the ones I asked said they liked your voice- I'm sure the 'cool ones' wouldn't admit to anything!

    I have so many glorious memories of your music growing up- my father calling you a bitch because he hated your voice ('ALL THE ONES AROUND ME, i DON'T CARE WHO YOU ARE!!!'), practically sobbing to 'Don't Think Twice...', singing myself hoarse to 'My Rainbow Race', etc, etc. Lately I have had great fun in the car singing Lay Lady Lay to my young girls- Amelia in the back seat nodding vigorously to the loud bits. And interestingly the song I am singing all the time lately is 'Reason is the only way to change what we're creating...'

    My brother and I saw you at Dallas Brooks Hall years ago. I think you finished with Ruby Tuesday. I wanted 'Little Bit Of Me.' Please think about coming back to Melbourne sometime so I can thank you personally. My other favorite singer is Justin Hayward, and I just missed out on talking to him when I was in England in 2002. And I have given up on Joni Mitchell.

    I hope you are well. I will keep trying to introduce new audiences at school to you. I hope you found this amusing. THANK YOU!!

  2. Dear Melanie,

    Thank yo so much for making a new album. I'm 27 years old and from The Netherlands. I grew up with your music because it's what my mother played all day and every day. We even named our latest dog Melanie, after you. She's very cute!

    I hope you will tour Europe and visit The Netherlands. I'm sure going to take my mom there to see you. The tour page on your website didn't work so I figure your webmaster is still working on that.

    Thanks again, you are a truely amazing artist and I hope we can enjoy you being with us for a long time to come.

  3. Hi Melanie,

    I'm writing to you from a Swedish publishing house called Natur & Kultur (www.nok.se) to inquire about permission to use a lyric from one of your songs in a novel we are publishing. The homepage didn't have much in way of contact details, so I am trying you here instead. Please would you get in touch with me over email so I can explain in detail what the author's request concerns.

    Many thanks,
    Nina Eidem, Editor
